In the Perilous Adventures Warbands Guide (PAWG), your warband is your strength—a crew of rugged adventurers facing a world of peril head-on. Whether you’re new to tabletop roleplaying or a seasoned player, these five characters—Torren, Lira, Eryn, Kael, and Veyra—show how to build your hero from the ground up. We use the d100 system—roll two ten-sided dice (one for tens, one for units) and aim to get equal to or under your skill—lower is better! Each character has attributes (340 points total), skills (90 points spent), distinctions, and gear, ready to fight, sneak, or cast their way through danger. We’ll break them down with examples and math to show how they work—no full battles, just the pieces of their legend. Meet your warband, and let’s forge your own!
Torren, Human Warrior
- Concept: A grizzled human fighter, wielding a sword with brute force to lead the charge.
- Species: Human—Adaptable Spirit (+10 Melee Weapons, reroll once/session).
- Background: Soldier (+10 Endurance)—scarred medal as trinket.
- Attributes: STR 70, DEX 50, CON 70, INT 40, WIS 50, CHA 60 (340 total).
- Skills: Melee Weapons 100 (70 + 20 + 10), Endurance 90 (70 + 20), Intimidation 70 (60 + 10).
- Distinctions: Adaptable Spirit, Weapon Master (+20 Melee Weapons with swords).

Lira, Duskborn Rogue
- Concept: A shadowy Duskborn thief, striking from hiding with a finesse rapier.
- Species: Duskborn—Night’s Embrace (+20 Stealth/Perception in dim/dark, no penalties).
- Background: Street Urchin (+10 Sleight of Hand)—bent coin as trinket.
- Attributes: STR 40, DEX 90, CON 30, INT 50, WIS 70, CHA 60 (340 total).
- Skills: Stealth 100 (90 + 10), Sleight of Hand 90 (90), Melee Weapons 60 (40 + 20).

- Species: Embermarked—Flameheart (+10 Mana, resist 10 fire once/day, free Fire Bolt).
- Background: Sage’s Apprentice (+10 Knowledge: Arcana)—worn tome as trinket.
- Attributes: STR 60, DEX 50, CON 70, INT 90, WIS 70, CHA 30 (340 total).
- Skills: Spellcasting 90 (70 + 20), Knowledge: Arcana 100 (90 + 10), Craft 70 (90 - 20 spent elsewhere).

- Background: Outcast (+10 Survival)—etched stone as trinket.
- Attributes: STR 40, DEX 50, CON 70, INT 60, WIS 80, CHA 40 (340 total).
- Skills: Spellcasting 100 (80 + 20), Survival 90 (80 + 10), Medicine 80 (80).
